Check the terminal first. T1 arrivals exit into the arrivals hall on Floor 1, while T2 arrivals use hall A, B or C on Floor 0 and meet at the T2B meeting point. Flights from outside the Schengen area clear passport control before the belts, which adds time after landing. To collect someone by car, the Express car parks at both terminals are free for 10 minutes.

How to read the arrivals board
Every time is Barcelona local time. Type a flight number, an airline or the city the plane comes from; a search covers the whole day. The filters split the list into landed, in the air, scheduled, delayed and cancelled flights, and a flight sold under several codes appears once, in the operating airline's row. Terminal, gate and belt columns appear only when the data carries them. Once a flight has a real time, a chip compares it with the schedule: "On time" from 3 minutes early to 5 minutes late, otherwise the minutes early or late. Near the current time the board opens on the hour before and after now; Earlier flights, Later flights and All flights show the rest. The list changes with each data refresh, so reload the page, and trust the airport screens and the airline if they differ.
Which terminal, which hall, where to wait
The two terminals are about 4 km apart by road, with no walkway between them, so start with the terminal on the board or the booking. Inside T2, the three sections sit in a row: T2A to T2B takes about 2 minutes on foot and T2B to T2C about 5.
| Terminal | Usually serves | Bags come out in | Wait at |
|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | Vueling, Iberia, LEVEL and most long-haul and full-service airlines | The Sky Center hall on Floor 1; Carousel 00 for the Barcelona-Madrid air shuttle (Pont Aeri) | The meeting point in the T1 arrivals hall, Floor 1 |
| T2A | Flights from outside Schengen (easyJet and Pegasus excepted) | Hall A, Floor 0 | The meeting point in the T2B arrivals hall, Floor 0 |
| T2B | Schengen flights, mainly Ryanair and Transavia (easyJet and Norwegian excepted) | Hall B, Floor 0 | The same T2B meeting point |
| T2C | easyJet, Norwegian and Pegasus | Hall C, Floor 0 | The T2B meeting point, about 5 minutes away on foot |
The assignment of airlines to terminals changes from time to time, so go by the boarding pass rather than the airline's usual home. Baggage trolleys stand throughout both terminals, and the taxi ranks and the car hire desks are on the arrivals side of each.
Passport control, EES and customs
A flight from inside the Schengen area goes straight to the belts. From the UK or anywhere else outside Schengen, the Policía Nacional checks passports before reclaim; holders of chip passports from the EU, the EEA or Switzerland can usually use the ABC e-gates. Non-EU visitors on a short stay are registered in the Entry/Exit System, with fingerprints and a facial image, which started on 12 October 2025 and has run in full since 10 April 2026. ETIAS has not started yet.
Customs comes after the belts, in the arrivals areas of T1, T2A, T2B and T2C. What you may bring in duty-free, and which channel to take, is explained under customs.
Belts, special baggage and a bag that does not appear
The screens in each hall give the belt. A bike, golf bag or anything longer than 1.2 m or heavier than 50 kg is special baggage and comes out at its own carousel, which the screens also show. If a bag is missing or damaged, report it at the airline's or handling agent's desk in the reclaim hall before walking out: the Property Irregularity Report you get there starts the claim, and Aena does not handle checked bags. Deadlines and contacts are on arrivals yesterday and the baggage page. For heavy luggage, the Transeaba service collects cases at the carousel or from a parked car and moves them for you (+34 662 165 738, [email protected]).
Collecting someone by car, taxi or app
Each terminal has an Express car park (kiss and fly) on its access road, T1's on the way to departures. The first 10 minutes are free; stay longer and the whole time is charged, up to a maximum of 2 hours. For a longer wait, the T1 General car park is joined to the terminal and charges by the minute, and the T2 General car park stands opposite T2A, T2B and T2C.
Official taxis, black with a yellow side panel, queue at the ranks outside arrivals at both terminals; a ride from the airport costs at least €21 with every supplement included. Uber, Cabify and Bolt cars do not use the taxi rank: they pick up in signed VTC areas, and the app gives the exact point. More on the taxi page and the parking page.
Into Barcelona from each terminal
| T1 | T2 | |
|---|---|---|
| Aerobús, 24 hours | Line A1 | Line A2 |
| Metro L9 Sud | Aeroport T1 station | Aeroport T2 station |
| Rodalies R2 Nord | Shuttle to T2 first | Aeroport station, covered walkway |
| Bus 46 to Plaça Espanya | Yes | Yes |
| Night bus | N17 or N18 | N16 or N18 |
| Car hire desks | Floor 1, arrivals hall | T2B, Floor 0 |
The Aerobús takes about 35 minutes to Plaça Catalunya, and the A1 and A2 never swap terminals. The Metro needs the €5.70 Airport Ticket and a change of line for the centre. Fares, timetables and the night options are in the transport guide.
Help on arrival
Aena's free Barrier Free service meets passengers with reduced mobility at the aircraft and takes them through reclaim; request it at least 48 hours ahead through the airline and Aena. Anyone can buy the paid Meet & Assist escort, which Aena sells with 48 hours' notice and a valid ticket.
Travel tips
- Ask the passenger for the flight number, not just the airline; the board searches by number.
- Agree in advance on the T1 or T2B meeting point, so nobody waits at the wrong building.
- Wait outside the Express car park until the passenger has the bags, since the 10 free minutes go fast.
- Open the Uber, Cabify or Bolt app before landing to see the VTC pick-up point.
- Buy the Metro Airport Ticket at the machine; a T-casual will not open the airport gates.
- Keep Aena's 24-hour information number, +34 913 211 000, in your phone for the day.
