Barcelona-El Prat VIP lounges: which one you can use in T1 and T2, prices and opening hours
Barcelona-El Prat has four Aena VIP lounges, all after security: Pau Casals for Schengen flights and Joan Miró for non-Schengen flights in T1, Colomer for the Barcelona–Madrid air shuttle in T1, and Canudas, the only lounge in T2. Walk-in entry costs €48.00 per adult (€22.20 per child), or €51.26 (€24.55) at Joan Miró, for a stay of up to 3 hours before departure. If you only want to skip the security queue, see Fast Track; for an escort through the airport, Meet & Assist.

Which Barcelona airport lounge can you use?
| Your flight | Lounge | Where | Hours | Adult / child |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T1, Schengen (gates A, B, C) | Pau Casals | T1 Floor 2 | 04:30 to the last flight | €48.00 / €22.20 |
| T1, outside Schengen (gates D, E) | Joan Miró | T1 Floor 2, past passport control | 05:00 to the last flight | €51.26 / €24.55 |
| T1, Barcelona–Madrid air shuttle (Pont Aeri) | Colomer | T1 Floor 1, air shuttle area | 06:00–21:00 | €48.00 / €22.20 |
| T2 (T2B or T2C) | Canudas | T2 Floor 1, gate U | 06:00–23:00 | €48.00 / €22.20 |
All four are Aena's own VIP lounges (Sala VIP), and all four are after security, so you reach them once you have been screened, and for Joan Miró once you are through passport control as well. Two things decide which one is open to you: the terminal and the gate. T1 and T2 are separate buildings about 4 km apart by road with no airside link, so a T2 passenger cannot get to a T1 lounge, and the reverse. Inside T1, Schengen and non-Schengen passengers are kept apart after passport control, which is why Pau Casals and Joan Miró sit on the same floor but serve different flights.
Your boarding pass gives the terminal, and the departure screens give the gate letter. In T1, gates A, B and C are Schengen and D and E are not; in T2, R, S and U are Schengen and W, Y and the separate area M are not. Gate letters are assigned on the day, so check the screens before you head for a lounge.
Pau Casals lounge: T1 Schengen flights
Pau Casals is on T1 Floor 2, in the boarding area that serves gates A, B and C, and it is reserved for passengers on Schengen flights. That covers flights within Spain and to the other Schengen countries. It opens at 04:30 and stays open to the last flight of the day, so the closing time moves with the schedule. Walk-in entry is €48.00 per adult and €22.20 per child. Lounge phone: +34 932 596 430.
It is the best-equipped lounge for families: it is the only one with a children's area, and it also has a nursing room. Showers, a meeting room and a left-luggage service complete the list. Priority Pass named it the world's best lounge in 2013.
Joan Miró lounge: T1 flights outside Schengen
Joan Miró is also on T1 Floor 2, in the non-Schengen area by gates D and E, for passengers flying outside the Schengen area: the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Americas, Asia, Africa and the rest. You reach it after security and after passport control. It opens at 05:00 and stays open to the last flight. At €51.26 per adult and €24.55 per child it is the dearest of the four. Lounge phone: +34 932 596 428.
It has the longest list of facilities: showers, a quiet room, a prayer room, a nursing room and a meeting room as well as the rest area and work areas that every lounge has.
Colomer lounge: only for the Barcelona–Madrid air shuttle
Colomer is on T1 Floor 1, in the area of the Barcelona–Madrid air shuttle (Pont Aeri), and only passengers on that shuttle may use it. It is open from 06:00 to 21:00, the earliest closing of the four, and costs €48.00 per adult and €22.20 per child. Lounge phone: +34 932 596 429.
It has the shared basics (Wi-Fi, food and drink, a rest area, work areas, a meeting room) but no showers. If your flight to Madrid is not a shuttle service, or you fly anywhere else from T1, pick Pau Casals or Joan Miró by your gate.
Canudas lounge: the only lounge in T2
Canudas is on T2 Floor 1, in the boarding area at gate U, on the Schengen side of the terminal. It is the only lounge for passengers leaving from T2, which mainly means Ryanair and Transavia in T2B and easyJet in T2C. It is open from 06:00 to 23:00 and costs €48.00 per adult and €22.20 per child. Lounge phone: +34 932 596 427.
Inside you find showers and a quiet room on top of the usual rest area, work areas and catering. There is no children's area or nursing room. For flights from the non-Schengen gates W and Y, or from area M, ask at Canudas reception, or phone, before you buy whether you can still reach your gate.
Prices, the 3-hour limit and how to buy
Pau Casals, Colomer and Canudas cost €48.00 per adult and €22.20 per child; Joan Miró costs €51.26 and €24.55. The price is per visit, not for the day: in every lounge you can stay for up to 3 hours before your scheduled departure time. Arrive earlier and you wait outside; plan to clear security about 3 hours before the flight if you want the full stay. Check the age limit for the child rate when you buy.
Buy access on Aena's VIP services website, on Aena's website or in the Aena app, and choose the lounge that matches your terminal and gate. Aena asks you to buy VIP services only through its own channels. A purchase is valid for 3 months. Aena Club members may get a discount when buying online, depending on their plan; the checkout shows it.
Pau Casals and Joan Miró stay open to the last flight, so there is no fixed closing time; Colomer closes at 21:00 and Canudas at 23:00. For a late T2 departure after 23:00 there is no lounge.
Business class, airline status, Priority Pass and bank cards
All four lounges are Aena's. Airlines that offer lounge access to business-class passengers or frequent flyers send them here, so "the airline lounge" at Barcelona is one of the four. Your airline decides whether you are entitled and to which lounge: confirm it with the airline before you fly.
Priority Pass, LoungeKey, DragonPass and bank cards with lounge benefits work only if your card covers that lounge, and capacity rules can apply. There is no airport-wide rule. Check your card's app for the Barcelona lounges it lists before you rely on it; if it is not there, Aena's walk-in price still applies.
Aena's Meet & Assist escort includes time in a VIP lounge, so travellers who book it do not buy lounge access separately.

No lounge access? Other places to rest in T1
Air Rooms by Sleep & Fly, on T1 Floor 1, sells rooms for 3 or 6 hours of day use and a 1-hour shower service, with Wi-Fi, a business corner and a gym, 24 hours a day. It has 21 rooms and 4 suites; book on +34 933 758 611 or at [email protected]. It is in T1; the services page lists rest areas and charging points in both terminals, and the restaurants page the cafés after security.
Travel tips
- Leaving T1 on a Schengen flight before 04:30, or a non-Schengen one before 05:00? Your lounge will not be open yet, so plan breakfast at a café after security.
- Keep your boarding pass handy at reception: the lounge checks the flight and its time against the 3-hour rule.
- On a late Barcelona–Madrid air shuttle, Colomer will have closed at 21:00: ask at Pau Casals reception whether you can use it instead.
- Follow your gate on the lounge's flight information screens and leave in time for the walk, especially to the D and E gates past passport control.
- Lounge card holders: screenshot the lounge listing in your card's app before you set off, in case of poor signal at reception.
