Barcelona-El Prat daily traffic (BCN): arrivals and departures by local hour

How activity is distributed
The record contains 499 arrivals and 510 departures. Arrivals account for 49.5% of the scheduled flights.
The 10:00–11:00 interval contains 67 recorded flights: 33 arrivals and 34 departures. This is a within-day comparison, not an operational prediction.
What the peak hour means for your journey
The highest recorded concentration for 24 Oct 2026 is 10:00–11:00, with 34 departures and 33 arrivals. If your flight departs near this interval, allow extra margin for airport access, check-in and security, while following the arrival time recommended by your airline. If you are meeting someone, several close arrivals can increase demand for baggage reclaim, taxis and ground transport at the same time. Landing time is also not the same as leaving the terminal. This guidance is based on the day’s recorded schedule and does not replace the current status of a specific flight.

Check your flight, not only the pattern
The hourly distribution summarizes the recorded schedule. For a specific decision, open the current arrivals or departures board and confirm urgent changes with the airline.
Method and limits
What this page counts
Provider records are normalized, codeshares are grouped and rows without a usable public identity are excluded. The remaining recorded flights are then aggregated by airport-local hour.

It does not measure passengers, security queues, terminal capacity or official arrival advice. Hours with no recorded flights are shown as 0 to complete the day; that zero is not official proof that the airport was inactive.
Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) daily traffic questions
Is this a wait-time prediction?
No. It only compares the number of recorded scheduled flights by hour.
Why can the total change?
Provider updates, cancellations and codeshare grouping can change the public record.
Where can I check an earlier date?
Open the flight archive to choose only months and dates that are actually on record.
The daily-traffic chart always shows today at Barcelona-El Prat in local hours, with arrivals and departures counted separately, and names the peak hour. If the latest update is late, the later hours stay empty until it arrives. An hour at zero means nothing was recorded in it, and past days are in the flight archive.

Reading the hour-by-hour chart
Each bar stands for one local hour of today, with landings and take-offs shown separately. A flight is placed in the hour it was scheduled, and the peak hour is the one with most recorded flights. When an update is late, the hours it would have filled stay empty until it comes through. T1 and T2 share the chart, so a busy hour may be busy in only one of the two buildings. For a date that has passed, open the flight archive, which keeps each recorded day whole.
Meeting someone when several flights land together
A cluster of arrivals means busier reclaim halls, exits and taxi ranks. First find the terminal on the arrivals board: T1 and T2 stand about 4 km apart by road; the free shuttle between them takes some 10 minutes towards T2B and T2C and roughly 14 back to T1. The general meeting points are in the arrivals halls, on Floor 1 of T1 and Floor 0 of T2B.
Catching a flight at a peak hour
A crowded hour on the chart says nothing about how long the security queue will be. By Aena's rule you should be at the airport at least 45 minutes before departure; 2 hours for Schengen and domestic flights and 3 hours for non-Schengen ones is a more comfortable margin. The security guide shows where each checkpoint is in T1 and T2.
Travel tips
- Before deciding an hour is always busy, check it on the same weekday across several weeks of the archive.
- Collecting someone, watch the landing bars; flying yourself, the take-off bars.
- Coming by Rodalies to fly from T1? The train stops at T2 only, so build the shuttle into your timing.
- If your airline closes check-in more than 45 minutes before departure, its deadline is the one that counts.
